Vital Information

I left out the most important part of my appointment! When we got to the "social" part of my medical profile, Dr. Quixotic asked me to elaborate on my drinking and caffeine habits. He then, without prompting, said that I should keep caffeine at no more than one serving per day (no problem) and that my current level of alcohol consumption was fine, and could continue at any time except from the time of ovulation until either confirming or ruling out a pregnancy for that cycle. I presume that he wouldn't want me to start drinking agains if it turns out, at some point, that I am pregnant, but we'll fight that battle when it happens. (I kid, I kid.) In the meantime...bottoms up! I think I'm going to pull out some juicy Zinfandel for Shabbat.

Yeah, the caffeine withdrawal? It has me running scared. I'm a coffee girl, and the idea that (let's be optimistic here), going coffee-less through IVF and then 9 months of pregnancy makes my knees tremble.

So let's just all agree to compensate with the martinis then, yes?

(I joke, I joke!)
